I'm not a big fan of needless brutality and excessive violence in movies, but I have to admit, Quentin Tarantino seems understand violence better than most directors working today, and uses it very effectively as a story telling tool .

Aside from the fact that this a Quentin Tarantino film, it also features an all star cast.

Also opening this week is "Shorts", a children's movie directed by one of my favorite directors, Robert Rodriguez. I usually never miss a Rodriguez premier but I don't think he's ever opened against Tarantino.

It was a hard choice to make but I'm siding with Tarantino this weekend, mainly because of the all star cast and becuase I love a good war movie.
